Smart Factories

Master Degree course in Management Engineering

course content

The course aims to provide the knowledge and skills for the design and management of Industry 4.0 technologies within Smart Factories and in the context of innovative production processes. In addition to a necessary theoretical approach, the course will be strongly characterized by an experiential approach, with the use and discussion of real case studies to master not only the technologies but also their impact on production techniques and processes. The course offers students an understanding of the issues related to the management of industrial plants in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0). In particular, after the analysis of the reference technological scenario, the identification of the key areas of intervention and the processes for the implementation of the 4.0 strategy and the discussion of the elements characterizing Industry 4.0, including the use of Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, Virtual/Augmented Reality, Simulation, Collaborative Robots, etc., we arrive at the identification, analysis and discussion of the methodologies for the management of the design and managerial issues relating to the structure of Smart Factories, the “Smart” Maintenance of Industrial Systems 4.0 and their Lean and Agile organization.
